Craft beer pairings to take your summer barbecue to the next level

Grilling out this summer and looking for a few expertly-paired beers for your menu? Look no further, because Adam Romanow, Founder & President at Castle Island Brewing Co., has you covered.

BBQ chicken calls for something light, crisp, and citrusy. Our Candlepin Pale Ale fits that bill thanks to a clean malt bill and copious additions of Citra, a hop known for bright, punchy flavors of orange, lime, and mango.
For seafood, I always recommend our White Ale. Based on a Belgian wit, this beer is brewed with Valencia oranges and fresh ground coriander seed, which has intense lemony aromatics that are an awesome complement to shrimp kabobs.
If you're grilling up a great steak, you can't go wrong with Keeper IPA. It's super balanced with just the right amount of hoppiness, and the subtle grapefruit flavor will cut nicely through any marbling on the cut.
I love a summer salad loaded with freshly grilled onions, eggplant, and peppers and a healthy dose of crumbled goat cheese. Pair that up with Budswell Apricot Sour for a tangy, fruity twist that'll elevate your summer grilling game to new heights.
If you're keeping it simple a la "burgers and dogs", you're going to want an all-American pairing. Our American Lager is just the ticket, and it drinks so clean and crisp that it'll have even the domestic light lager loyalist reaching for more.
